Tax rate slashed: Jarrell budget approval comes down to wire

    Hours before the official start of the new fiscal year, Jarrell City Council approved the city’s budget with a 3-2 vote during a special meeting on September 30. Alderman Jeff Seidel and Daniel Islas voted against the budget. 

    According to the approved budget, Jarrell will operate with a balanced budget of $6,111,054 in both General Fund expenditures and revenues. However, revenues are not exp…
