The number of motor vehicle crashes in Georgetown has gone up steadily over the past 14 years — from 1,658 crashes in 2011 to 3,871 in 2024 — as the city’s population has increased.
“[The city is] always looking for opportunities to impact the number [of motor vehicle crashes], but it’s tough,” Police Chief Cory Tchida told city council members during the February 11 workshop.
