Yesteryears: Feed store on the Square to give away egg mash on opening day
Private First Class Joe Klepac, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klepac of Jarrell, Texas, was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in action in Korea while serving with the Fifth Cavalry Regiment of the First Cavalry Division. The presentation was made by Colonel Jonathan M. Rigon, Commanding Officer of the 172d Station Hospital where Klepac is recuperating. Prior to his entry in the armed forces in July, 1950, Klepac worked with his father in “Klepac & Son, Mechanics.”
