Yesteryears: Former Rough Rider faces rough road after lightning strike
August 29, 1976: Looking out toward the Wesleyan and the First Baptist Church from the courthouse roof affords a tree-top scenario of Georgetown. The photo shows the corner of Main Street at Ninth Street (before the Heritage Church was moved there), and also includes the Compton Motors car lot (which is now the “Red Poppy” parking lot).

The monument
The monument to be erected at the grave of Dr. F. A. Mood, on the Campus of the Southwestern University, and immediately west of the University main building and north of the Chapel, arrived last week, and the work of making the inscriptions on the monument and of preparing for putting it in position is in progress.
