Karen Ann Clayton
Karen Ann Clayton
Karen Ann Clayton was born to John and Ann Tatum in Houston, TX on May 11, 1959. She went to her eternal rest on September 11, 2024 at the age of 65 in Georgetown, TX after a short, but hard-fought, battle with lung cancer.
Karen was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, an adored and accomplished teacher, non-profit entrepreneur, and beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, Nanny, and friend. She taught for over 30 years in public and private institutions, marked not by awards or accolades, but by the hundreds of children, parents, and teachers whose lives were forever changed because each of them found their place in her abounding and immense love. She was full of energy and life, always looking for the next project, and always looking for the next person to help.
Karen is survived by her husband of 42 years, Roger Clayton Sr. (Georgetown, TX); her parents, John and Ann Tatum (Schulenburg, TX); her siblings, John and Lynne Tatum (Corpus Christi, TX), Susan and Robert Seegmiller (East Layton, UT); her children, Roger and Rebekah Clayton Jr (Georgetown, TX), Allyson and Terry Lee (Buda, TX); and her grandchildren, Avery Lee, Graham Clayton, Tatum Lee, Hannah Lee, and Spencer Clayton.
Karen’s Celebration of Life will take place on October 5th at St. John’s Methodist Church, Georgetown, TX at 1 pm, with reception to follow. Please wear a joyous color as we celebrate her life. She will be interred at St. John’s Cemetery in Georgetown, TX.
In loving memory of Karen’s servant heart, her family kindly requests that you honor her legacy through acts of service. They invite you to donate your time to your local school, church, food pantry, or any place of need, carrying forward the spirit of generosity she embodied.
