Kenneth (Ken) Ray Pinter
Kenneth (Ken) Ray Pinter
Kenneth (Ken) Ray Pinter, quietly passed away on June 17, 2024 in Georgetown, Texas, at the age of 77. He was born in Peoria, IL to Julia and Harold Pinter. After leaving home he graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering. He then went to work for Texas Instruments and enjoyed a career spanning 22 years. He earned a Master’s degree in business during that time. He later taught at several community colleges.
Ken married his first wife, Christine Ellen Flagge, in 1969. After Christine passed away, Ken married Diane Rachal Newberry in Austin, Texas, in 1989. They were married for 34 years, living in Austin, Texas, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Georgetown, Texas. Ken and Diane traveled extensively and loved every trip.
Always active, while in Santa Fe, Ken became a volunteer firefighter in his community of Eldorado, a job he truly loved for eight years.
A man known to be reserved, Ken was very stubborn, yet patient. He never wanted to be in the spotlight. He was a wonderful father, always teaching his sons and being a part of their sports through the years. He adored his grandchildren and tried to be at all their games and activities.
In retirement, his passion was genealogy, of which he was incredibly proud. He researched his own family, Diane’s family and those of other family members and friends. He loved helping friends and neighbors. Ken was raised by good people and passed those values down to his sons and grandchildren.
Ken’s last act of kindness before going to the hospital was to turn over the neighborhood flag duty for the 4th of July celebration.
Ken is survived by his wife Diane; son Erik, wife Stacy and children (Chase, Ava); son David, wife Ashley and children (Georgia, Nash); two sisters, Kathy Hein and Kim Spengler; stepsons Scott Newberry and Brad Newberry.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Breast Cancer Research, Wounded Warrior Project or the Gary Sinise Foundation.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 30, from 2-4 p.m. at the Heritage Oaks Community Center, 4611 Verde Vista, Georgetown, Texas, 78633.
