Marvin August Mueller

Marvin August Mueller

Marvin August Mueller

1930 - 2024 The family of Marvin August Mueller announces his journey to his heavenly home on May 31, 2024. He is celebrating his 94th birthday in heaven. Marvin was an early riser and loved stormy weather. At 5 a.m., we can imagine God saying, “Marvin, I sent this storm for you; it’s time to wake up in your new home, the place I have prepared for you!”

First and foremost, Marvin was a man of deep conviction and principle. His Lutheran faith was the foundation he built his entire life around… his family life, his profession and his hobbies. He humbly and quietly showed every man who crossed his path how to be a faithful Christian and act with integrity, humility, compassion, generosity, strength and love. He began each day in communion with God, praying and reading his Bible.

Marvin considered his greatest joy the life and family he built with his beloved wife of 71 years, Marjorie Schneider Mueller. He remembered when Fred and Velma Schneider brought that little screaming baby to church; he was five then. He watched her grow up; they enjoyed Luther League activities together and finally married on December 7, 1952, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Walburg. Marvin was a hard-working man, from his earliest days living on a farm to his career in concrete construction well into his 80s. This trait was instilled in him by his parents and his German heritage.

His ancestors settled in the Walburg area near Georgetown. They helped establish St Peter Lutheran Church in Walburg, where he was baptized, confirmed and married. Marvin loved spending time in his workshop, turning out beautiful furniture and the “shadow crosses” he made with great pride. He left this legacy to his dear friend, Mike Metzger. He loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting and gardening. Marvin delighted his family and friends by sharing the bounty of his garden every spring and fall. Everyone enjoyed it when he fried the fish he caught and when he grilled the perfect steak!

In the last year, Marvin followed his grandson, Shawn, on his hauling trips with his phone app. If Shawn stopped “too long” somewhere, he had to call to make sure everything was okay!

Marvin August Mueller was born to Alfred and Emma Vogler Mueller on May 31, 1930, in Georgetown, Texas. He leaves behind his loving wife of 71 years, Marjorie Schneider Mueller; his daughter, Brenda Mueller Chlapek, her husband Dwaine, and his children Anna Chlapek Geisenhoff, her husband Dave, and their children Kevin and Jessica; Greg Chlapek; and Matt Chlapek and his wife Jodi Kanz; grandchildren, Shawn Preece, his wife Heather, and their children Haven, Colton, his wife Hannah, their children Finley and Rowan August; Shalene Mueller Conrad, her husband Brent, and their children Lason and Owen; Jeffrey Mueller, his wife Ashley, and their children Noah and Camille; James Mueller and his son James; and Jordan Mueller; his beloved sister, Marilyn Mueller Schkade; nieces, nephews, and cousins; his church family and many incredible friends. We will meet again!

Marvin sadly lost his son, Douglas Neill Mueller, just two weeks before his death. Doug fought a long and hard battle with cancer with his Dad, his comfort and strength, by his side. Others awaiting Marvin’s arrival in heaven are his parents, Alfred and Emma Mueller; his brother, Norman Mueller, and wife Verine; his beloved older sister, Evelyn Mueller Wolf, who he just lost in March; her husband, Kerney, and their sons Richard and Mark Wolf; his brother-in-law, Carl Schkade; his in-laws, Fred and Velma Schneider; and a whole host of friends and extended family. Marvin’s life and legacy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on June 15, 2024, at Crosspoint Lutheran Church in Georgetown. Reverend Michael Geiger will officiate.

Marvin was blessed to have the care and love of some extraordinary people over the last several years. They include Esmeralda “Essy,” a woman with a calm spirit, and the care team at Seniors Helping Seniors: Sofie, aka “Trouble,” Debbie, Theresa, and Karina. The family wishes to thank the Choice Hospice team, Mimi, Sherrie, Kirsten, Lisa, Monet, and Sherry, for the extraordinary love, care, and support they showed Marvin and our family during the final weeks of his life. Memorials may be made in Marvin’s name to Crosspoint Lutheran Church, Georgetown; Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Mequon, Wisconsin; in his son, Doug’s, name to the Sloan Kettering Institute, New York; or the charity of your choice. Marvin’s confirmation verse: Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. Psalm 86:11 KJV
