Compliments from a local poll watcher

I just read Brad Stutzman’s “Election Reflections from the Front Lines” column from November 16 and enjoyed his honest description of his experience as election judge in this last election.

I was an election clerk for Brad several years ago (at the Lakeway location) and learned a lot about how elections work. I decided to do something different this election and I volunteered to be a poll watcher in the county. I have to say, not all polling locations are run the same way, as I discovered after Poll Watching at five different locations during the election, including Brad’s location.

Brad runs a tight ship and is an expert at making sure all voters are processed quickly and efficiently. He observes the wonderful people coming into the polling place and recognizes (in his words) the “brief, bright and special moments” that happen every day.

In my view, the county could use a lot more Brad Stutzman’s on election day.
