The car in which he was riding and a Ford truck collided, throwing the wounded man to the ground. * Members of the University of Texas faculty and library staff are making special efforts to acquire old manuscripts and documents relating to the history of Texas. It is thought that many citizens of the State have in their possession numerous old papers of a special value to them, which would be of historic interest to research students of history and of general interest to display among the archives of Texas Collections in the care of Mrs. M. A. Hatchet, archivist of the University. * John McLeod, who lives near Bertram, had the misfortune of losing his barn and contents this week by fire. Several bales of cotton, seed and some corn were lost. The cause of the fire is not known.

* GHS senior Clint Hawes was a county commissioner for a day last week. He sat in on a long court hearing and got a good dose of county government and the kinds of problems commissioners deal with constantly. Commissioners Wesley Foust, Carl Lidell, Jerry Mehevec and Raymond Rister, along with County Judge C. L. Chance met with Hawes. * Tuesday night the FUMC hosts the Community Thanksgiving service. * Georgetown Municipal Court Judge Tim Maresh held his first jury trial. Previously he determined guilt or innocence in cases brought before him. * Georgetown sales up 24 percent over same time last year * Little Pilgrims Rebecca Cassens and Alan Biscamp laughing together at Christ Lutheran’s Learning Center Thanksgiving meal * Georgetown goes back to twice a week garbage collection. * Deer season opens.
