Happy Halloween

The characters are sons of longtime enemies Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. The play makes its Texas premiere at East View High School this weekend.

East View Texas premiere of 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child'

The wizarding world of Harry Potter will come alive at East View High School this weekend with the Texas premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. EVHS is among only 29 schools across the nation selected by the Wands at the Ready competition to perform the high school rendition of the play.

Williamson County Fair and Rodeo begins

The 2024 Williamson County Fair and Rodeo is rounding up residents from Wednesday, October 23, to Saturday, October 26, at the Williamson County Expo Center located on 5350 Bill Pickett Trail in Taylor. This is the organization’s fourth fair and rodeo.

Animals blessed in Georgetown

The Reverend Mary Ann Huston conducted a Blessing of the Animals service for Grace Episcopal Church, held at San Gabriel Park on Sunday, October 6, 2024. 
7-year-old Axyl Johannsen, front, and his brother Lynnox, 3, right, helped unload pumpkins at First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.  2,880 large pumpkins, plus many smaller versions were unloaded at the church.   The pumpkins were grown in New Mexico.   A second, but smaller batch of pumpkins will arrive from there on October 19th.   Sales continue through 5p.m. on October 31st.    Photo by Andy Sharp

First United Methodist Church of Georgetown pumpkin patch is here

First United Methodist Church in Georgetown unload pumpkins at on Wednesday, October 9, for this fall's pumpkin patch.  About 2,880 large pumpkins, plus many smaller versions were unloaded at the church.  The pumpkins were grown in New Mexico.
Cole Benson, 14, and Astin Carrillo, 12, carry a board that will soon be part of a bed for a boy or girl in the Georgetown area. Both young men volunteered their time for Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Cole attends Meridian World School in Round Rock and Astin is home schooled.

Cars lined each side of the narrow country lane. Parked along the wide-open spaces they stood out, serving as locating markers outside a sprawling Logan Ranch Road property. In the distance, buzzing sounds broke the Saturday morning silence.
