Photos: Residents seek shelter with warming center

Nonprofits like Helping Hands of Georgetown, Navigation Services, First United Methodist Church and community volunteers — have opened a warming center at Getsemani Community Center, 412 East 19th Street, Georgetown, for those seeking shelter during the ongoing cold front.

Cops vs. Grannies: Texas Fire Ants face Georgetown Police in charity game

The Texas Fire Ants, a Granny Basketball team, played a charity game against the Georgetown Police Department at East View High School on Saturday, January 17.  The game, won by the Fire Ants with a final score of 55-47,  benefited the Carver Center for Families.

His truth is marching on. Lee Greenwood wrote it in “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and Martin Luther King Jr.’s truth marched on in Georgetown on a sunny January 19, carrying on his dream for peace, justice and equality for all. What have we done with his dream?

This year's Letters to Santa!

Every year, the Williamson County Sun published letters written to Santa by local Georgetown children in the edition before Christmas. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Sun City for allowing the Sun to collect Santa letters during this year's Breakfast With Santa event again this year.

Sun City Neighborhood 43 Ladies brought holiday cheer to The Georgetown Project’s Holiday Party & Wreath Auction on December 1 by creating a dessert bar.
