Doggie Paddle at the K-9 Kerplunk

Georgetown's K-9 Kerplunk is held in the outdoor pool at the Georgetown Recreation Center on Saturday, September 6. The annual event is sponsored by Georgetown Parks & Recreation. This year’s event had separate pool times, one for smaller dogs, another for larger dogs.

Kittens put best paw forward at the library

Even when you know it’s coming, a room full of kittens is an easy way to bring joy to the heart. From their tiny paws to their curious personalities, many families from around Georgetown were eager to add a fuzzy friend to their crew.

Have a meow-velous time at the library

August 6 is in line to be one of the cutest days of the year, as kittens will return to the Georgetown Public Library. Dozens of adoptable kittens will be available for $35 at the library in support of the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter.The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

County shelter takes animals from Georgetown, Lampasas

The Georgetown Animal Shelter facility was evacuated on July 5 as water broke the banks of the San Gabriel River. The animals were taken to the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter site on SE Inner Loop. WCRAS began emergency protocols at about 10:30 a.m.

Animal shelter merger starts mid-July

The Georgetown Animal Shelter and the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will officially merge on July 14. On that date, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter campus at 1855 Inner Loop will serve as the central location for main shelter services.

Georgetown is a pet friendly city. It sometimes seems there are just as many pet strollers as there are baby strollers around town. Whether your pet barks, meows, or swims, Georgetown has everything that you need to pamper and care for them. This list is not comprehensive.
