After 20 years with Sneed, Vine & Perry, Georgetown Mayor Josh Schroeder has launched his own law firm, where he will continue practicing real estate and development law while pursuing development projects of his own.

Four generations have taken hold of McIntire’s Garden Center over its now 50 year tenure at 303 Leander Road in Georgetown. “It’s a milestone,” semi-retired manager Mark Ney said. “All my brothers and sisters [think] it’s pretty amazing that we kept the business going for 50 years.

New business PickleTex opens in Georgetown

Pickleball is a big deal in Georgetown, as the 225 people who showed up at PickleTex’s sold-out grand opening July 11 can attest to.

Crisp & Chew ribbon cutting marks beginning of Georgetown residents’ dream

Cookie shop Crisp & Chew celebrated a ribbon cutting for its new brick and mortar location at 1612 Williams Drive on Tuesday, June 16. The company is owned by Georgetown residents Sarah Davis and Qudduws Ware, who have been together since 1997 and married in 2010.

The Stables at Georgetown opens first sober living place in town

Among the gently sloping hills of Walburg lies The Stables at Georgetown, where men experiencing addiction can transition from rehab and outpatient care to sober living as part of their journey to recovery.

City council approves alcohol waiver for new Georgetown coffee shop

Perky Beans, a Leander-based coffee shop, is expanding into Georgetown, and received city council approval Tuesday to serve alcohol at the future business through a Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission waiver.

Downtown businesses get update on Georgetown’s pilot parklet program

Business leaders in downtown Georgetown last week learned about the city’s parklet pilot program, which will allow select businesses just off the Square to expand their services into sidewalks and what are now used as parking spaces.

Young Georgetown community leaders recognized for work

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club announced this year’s 5 Under 40 award winners for business and community leaders during a joint luncheon May 9. This is the second year for the program.
