A 22-year-old man was found dead at the site of a reported shooting just outside Georgetown’s city limits on April 25 at approximately 10 p.m., according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

Coin theft from elderly leads to 60 years in prison

A Williamson County jury found a 56-year-old man from Pearland guilty of theft of property from an elderly Williamson County resident — a first-degree felony — on Wednesday, March 12.The jury subsequently sentenced Christopher Alan Young to 60 years in prison and imposed a $10,000 fine.

Drunk driver gets 40 years for manslaughter of Elgin couple

Taylor resident John Crayton, Jr. was convicted of intoxication manslaughter on November 14 and sentenced to 40 years in prison. Charges stem from a vehicular wreck that killed Elgin couple Leonora Soriano and Christopher “Ali” Vassef in 2022.

Hutto man gets 30 years for shooting at Georgetown police officer

Malcolm Watts, 25, of Hutto, pled guilty this month to shooting at a Georgetown police officer during a domestic disturbance back in 2021. He was charged with aggravated assault of a public servant and on October 10, was sentenced by Judge Stacey Mathews to serve 30 years in prison.

Austin man convicted of vehicular homicide, gets 80 years

Leandro Brito-Martinez, 28, of Austin, was found guilty of murder by a Williamson County jury October 2. The vehicular homicide case involved 14-year-old Tobias Soto, a bystander who was struck and died as Brito-Martine attempted to evade police in Round Rock in 2022. The jury sentenced Mr.

Approximately 32 pounds of marijuana were seized after a vehicle was searched as part of a traffic stop August 27 in Williamson County. The Williamson County Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation.

Round Rock man with priors sentenced to 60 years for family violence

A Williamson County jury found Ronald Allen Mitchell, 56, of Round Rock, guilty of assault family violence with a previous violence conviction on August 7. Mr. Mitchell was sentenced to 60 years in prison.
