Vintage shop Florence Marketplace offers customers something new

Florence Marketplace is a vintage store selling antiques and gifts in downtown Florence. Co-owned by Justin Gibson, the space is designed using a three pronged approach. The “Modern Mercantile” area sells giftable items like cosmetics, jewelry, candles, t-shirts and other drygoods.

Florence City Council discusses water restrictions, drought plans

The City of Florence revised the drought contingency plan during the city council meeting August 1.  The council unanimously approved the changes to the city’s drought contingency plan ordinance.

Harley’s Angels Sanctuary sets annual fundraiser for September

Harley’s Angels Sanctuary — a dog rescue based in Florence — is having its annual fundraiser from 2-6 p.m. September 23 at Mulligan’s Restaurant and Bar in Sun City. There will be a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction from 2 -5 p.m., as well as vendors selling holiday gifts, art and baked goods.

A new path to kindness in Florence

A project by student Bryce Fisher has helped reform the pathway to a monument in Florence Community Park with an important message: kindness. The park, which lies near Salado Creek just off Farm to Market Road 970, contains a monument created five years ago by stone carver Matthew Johnson.
