The filing period has come and gone, and May 3 Georgetown City Council races are set. In Council District 3, newcomers Ben Butler and Joe Orsak will run to replace Mike Triggs, who is not running for re-election.District 4 incumbent Ron Garland will face challenger Dave Richardson.

Ron Garland aims to maintain city culture, projects

Commercial, multi-family development granted rezone in Southeast Georgetown

Georgetown City Council approved rezoning almost 15 acres of land at Sam Houston Avenue and Rockride Lane from agricultural to a Planned Unit Development during its February 11 regular meeting. The PUD will have a base zonings of commercial, high-density multi-family and low-density multi-family.
