Bibliofiles: Library announced Sculptors Show winners

There are 72 sculptures throughout the Georgetown Public Library which are part of the 18th-annual Texas Society of Sculptors Summer Show.Earlier this summer, visitors to the Library had the chance to vote for their favorite piece, and we thank everyone who participated.

Georgetown Public Library to close next month to add new book tags

The Georgetown Public Library will be closed from August 9 through 19 so radio frequency identification tags – which will help librarians find items on shelves, regulate inventory and improve self-check machines – can be added to the library’s inventory. During this time, no items will be due.

Georgetown Library exhibit shares truths of the Holocaust

When the Nazis came to the small village of Roth, Germany, in 1933, Deborah Roth-Howe’s father was a child. His Jewish family was only one of five in Roth, and its members were the only Holocaust survivors among the village’s small Jewish community.

Georgetown library establishes book locker at Carver Center

Georgetown Public Library held a ribbon cutting for its first book locker on February 24, giving readers a way to pick up and return library books at the Carver Center for Families.

City of Georgetown issues $38 million for fire station, services

Georgetown City Council approved a notice of intent to issue Certificates of Obligation totaling $38,285,000 for 2026. Certificates of Obligation, according to the Texas Comptroller’s office, provide local governments with flexibility in financing projects without voter approval.
