Georgetown Chamber of Commerce awards recognize businesses, volunteers

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce celebrated its members on Friday, January 30, with seven awards honoring businesses large and small, and people who have made a positive impact in the community over the past year.

Nonprofits step up to provide shelter during winter storm

By ISIS AIDE REYESAs a major winter storm approached Williamson County over the weekend, nonprofits and churches collaborated to create a warming center in Georgetown, which has no official city-run center.

New fire station to improve response times near Teravista

Over the next two fiscal years, the Georgetown Fire Department will design, build and put into operation an eighth fire station at Westinghouse Road and Farm to Market 1460 and a pilot EMS model on State Highway 29.

Georgetown Police Department data shows no racial profiling trends in 2025

Georgetown Police Department’s 2025 Racial Profiling Report shows of the 9,329 stops, the department did not use force resulting in bodily injury during traffic stops, and there were no racial profiling complaints made to the department.

Winter storm ices Williamson County, but leaves minimal damage

Following rain, wind and a hard freeze from Winter Storm Fern this weekend, Williamson County is expected to bounce back to normal by the end of the day Tuesday, January 27.
