Celebrating the pecan with two Williamson County food shows

Pecan lovers can rejoice this month with two opportunities to enjoy and show off their crops.  All county residents with a pecan tree are welcome to participate in the 2022 Williamson-Bell County Pecan Show on December 13 and the Williamson County Pecan Food Show on December 15.

David Watts launches new podcast about Georgetown

A former Georgetown resident is paying homage to his hometown through a new podcast produced all the way from his new home in San Francisco.  David Watts is a man of many hats. At the top of the bill, he is a doctor and medical lecturer, but also an author of western books, a poet and a musician.

New Tai Chi class, demonstration this weekend in Georgtown

The Georgetown branch of Taoist Tai Chi is inviting new students to their class beginning January 9. A live demonstration will take place this weekend on December 10 for anyone interested to see the students in action and learn more.

The Wesleyan — a faith-based nonprofit senior living and healthcare provider serving Georgetown and its surrounding areas — has selected Bethany Sisneroz as its new president and chief executive officer. The organization’s board announced the staffing update last week.  Ms.

Preservation Georgetown's historic home tour returns

Preservation Georgetown’s Holiday Home Tour is set to return next weekend from December 10-11. The tour has been on hiatus since 2019 due to the pandemic, but Preservation Georgetown has brought back the annual fundraising event.

Georgetown's Community Thanksgiving returned on Thursday, November 24, at the Georgetown Community Center in San Gabriel Park. Free meals were offered on a first-come first-served basis. For homebound residents, volunteers fanned out throughout the city delivering meals.
