Granger Lakefest welcomes summer

 The 47th Annual Granger Lakefest took place May 8-9, 2026.  
Granger Secondary School, along FM 971 east of downtown Granger, is pictured on Sunday, February 22, 2026. The face of a lion, the school mascot, can be seen inside.  from a distance. Granger ISD celebrates new secondary school opening

In a sea of purple and gold, Granger ISD students, parents, grandparents, alumni and just friendly neighbors turned out February 25 for the ribbon-cutting and free-range touring of the new Granger Secondary School.“It’s a great day to be a Lion,” GISD superintendent Stephen Brosch told the crowd.

3 roads ready to go

Williamson County officials celebrated multiple road project completions with ribbon-cutting ceremonies at the beginning of December. The projects — located in the northwest, north and northeast portions of the county — aim to improve mobility for residents.

Musicians find collaboration at The Woodshed

Approaching The Woodshed recording studio in Granger might just feel like you’re driving up to a house, but the magic lies in the back, where what was essentially the former Granger hardware store now houses a recording studio for musicians, movie makers and podcasters alike.

Williamson County turns up dirt with new road projects

Despite inconsistent summer weather, Williamson County officials have kick-started a series of road projects for rural communities in Wilco.

Grant could fund county tornado sirens

The cities of Granger and Weir are looking to the county to apply for federal grants that could bring tornado sirens to eastern Williamson County.

Gearing up Granger

Williamson County Commissioners Court approved the reorganization of American Rescue  Plan Act Funding to assist the Granger community with growing infrastructure needs. “Part of this problem is that Granger has been a sleepy little town for so long,” Granger Mayor Monica Stojanik said.

Cotton Country Club celebrates 25 years of dancing

 Cotton Country Club dancehall and restaurant in Granger is celebrating their 25 anniversary this year. The club was originally founded by Bubba Cox in 1999, and after a few changes in ownership, was most recently purchased in 2022 by Emily and Chris Hamilton.
