Residents not satisfied with Williamson County outreach efforts over Justice Complex

After three months of public pushback against the location for the Jail and Justice Center Complex, Williamson County hosted a public engagement meeting to collect resident feedback Saturday, August 22.

Two Justice Complex listening sessions upcoming

Williamson County will host two come-and-go community feedback sessions for its Justice Complex project this coming week.  Both meetings will be held at the Williamson County EMS North Campus, 3189 SE Inner Loop in Georgetown.

Justice Complex update: Commissioners again delay Justice Complex planning for additional public input

Updated at 1:30 p.m. on Friday August 7Williamson County is hosting two in-person events to receive community feedback and comments regarding the Williamson County Justice Complex project on Saturday, August 22, and Thursday, August 27.

Residents push back against potential jail site

Residents from six different Georgetown neighborhoods aired grievances Tuesday, May 5, about Williamson County’s plan to build a new jail and justice center on 248 acres on SE Inner Loop.

Jail, Justice Center could move into new facilities by 2031

Williamson County is working to move the county jail and justice center operations away from downtown Georgetown by 2031. Located at 306 West Fourth Street in Georgetown, the current jail opened in 1989 and can hold more than 1,000 inmates.
