A Sun City gathering of Congregation Havurah Shalom on Sunday, December 18, welcomed the first night of Hanukkah.
Luminaries adorn the grounds of St. John's United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 15, 2022.   The luminaries will shine throughout the Christmas holiday season.   The church, located at 311 East University, will conduct live nativities  here from Wednesday, December 21 through Friday, December 23, from 6-8 p.m. each evening. (Photos by Andy Sharp)

Giant tortoise enjoys adventure in Old Town

A giant 12-year-old African Sulcata tortoise was found wandering Old Town a few streets from the Square Thursday, December 15. The tortoise was discovered by neighbors and sequestered in a truck bed until Animal Control Officer Angela Jones was able to collect her.
