Southwestern University opened its theater season November 7 with Men on Boats. The story centers on an American expedition. Playwright Jaclyn Backhaus calls her comedic retelling of events “true-ish”.

Classic mystery on the Playhouse stage for October

Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery opened at the Palace Playhouse October 10. The crowd pleasing performance was directed with precision by Meredith Connely.The retelling of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s 1902 Sherlock Holmes story, “The Hound of the Baskervilles” was created by Ken Ludwig.

The June 20 Palace Playhouse opening night of Proof delivered in a big way.Proof premiered Off-Broadway in May 2000 and transferred to Broadway a few months later. The play won the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play.

Playtime: Tanya Tucker film screening ahead of Two Step Inn

GTX Film will be screening The Return of Tanya Tucker at 6 p.m., April 12, at the historic Palace Theatre. The film won the Audience Choice Award at the South by Southwest Film Festival in 2022 and has received accolades around the country.
