Georgetown nonprofit awards high school seniors scholarships

Six seniors from East View and Georgetown High Schools received scholarships ranging from $3,000- $5,000 from Georgetown’s branch of the American Association of University Women to continue their education. AAUW’s four Jessie Daniel Ames Scholarships — as well as two $5,000 W.D.

PEO raises money for STAR Scholarship

PEO Chapter II will be hosting a mahjong luncheon fundraiser on September 21 to benefit the PEO Texas STAR Scholarship for high school girls.  The “Ladies Luncheon and an Afternoon of Mah Jongg” event will be in the Cowan Creek Activity Center in Sun City.

Rubber duck race raises money for GISD seniors

Georgetown’s branch of the American Association of University Women will host their ninth annual duck race on October 19. Participants can win up to $500. The race will begin at 11 a.m. at the San Gabriel River in San Gabriel Park.

Williamson County Fair and Rodeo awards scholarships to Wilco seniors

The Williamson County Fair and Rodeo awarded $4,500 in scholarships to three local seniors at the June 27 commissioner's court meeting.  Scholarship recipients were Ty Chase, Madeline Edwards and Paige Phalen.
