Students gain work experience through summer programming

Macy Sockwell loves animals. She has a 1-year-old dog, an 18-year-old cat and a horse named Shine. This summer, she put that love to use while gaining job skills at Wag Heaven through the Texas Workforce Commission’s Summer Earn and Learn program.

Juneteenth celebrations happening this weekend

Georgetown’s 73rd annual Juneteenth celebration will include a photo exhibit, live entertainment, a parade and a historical marker unveiling over the next week. Some events are a partnership between the city and the Georgetown Cultural Citizen Memorial Association.
