Businesses serve up Thanksgiving cheer on the Square

Businesses from all around the Square worked with The Caring Place and Helping Hands of Georgetown November 19 to serve traditional Thanksgiving fare at the Georgetown Public Library to 200 members of the community.

Thanksgiving pies available to order

Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away. While some bakeries in the area — like Lulu’s Pie Shoppe on the Square — are already booked full for the holiday, there’s still some time to place a last-minute order for a traditional pie for your family’s dinner table.

Boy Scouts give back to their community

Last week Boy Scout Troop 1096 participated in the Brown Santa program and helped prepare Thanksgiving meals.  On Monday, November 27, 40 Cub Scouts from Pack 151 gave toys to Brown Santa.

Healthy holiday foods only require small changes

As the holidays approach, foods become abundant and healthy eating habits may fall to the wayside.  However, Stacey Palmer — a doctor of nursing p and nurse practitioner St. David’s Georgetow — said recentering the meaning of holidays can help those who are trying to maintain a healthy diet.
