Georgetown will perform system-wide maintenance on the city’s water system from May 27 until June 27. During this time, Georgetown water customers might notice chlorine odors and a green or brown tint in their water for short time periods.Customers could start noticing the changes on May 27 or 28.

Georgetown has secured a new potable water supply to serve future residents. City council Monday, December 30, entered into a contract with utility company GateHouse Water, LLC that would bring 18,500 acre-feet per year – about 16.5 million gallons per day – from the Simsboro Aquifer to Georgetown.
