Williamson County Commissioners discussed three different grant-funded county staff positions June 27. Commissioners had a July 1 budget deadline to decide to keep the positions as grant funded, to add them to the county budget or remove the positions.

Williamson County’s Citizens Bond Advisory Committee Tuesday, June 27, outlined $1.6862 billion worth of proposed road projects and $78.9 6 million in park projects that could be funded through a future county bond package.

Due in part to rising construction costs and inflation, Williamson County is facing a funding gap of more than $100 million to complete projects outlined in the 2019 road bond package, according to Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long.

Wilco commissioners recognize administrator Wanda Davidson for 40 years of service

Williamson County employee Wanda Davidson received a standing ovation January 17 as county commissioners and her colleagues celebrated her 40 years of service as court administrator for the 277th District Court.  She has held the position since the court was first ordered and opened in 1983.

Weir fire chief resigns

Weir’s Fire Chief Charlie Frymire has stepped down from his post after 16 Weir Fire Department volunteer firefighters signed a letter of No Confidence last month, asking for his resignation.  The announcement came during an Emergency Services District No. 6 Board Meeting on Tuesday, January 3.
