Suffragettes at Work

Williamson County’s League of Women Voters wore their best suffragette outfits to the Square on March 25 to promote the signing of the Equal Rights Amendment, a proposed constitutional amendment that has been ratified in more than 35 states to add a guarantee of equal rights regardless of sex.

Williamson County sets plans, timeline for new $90 million headquarter

Williamson County will begin a new chapter of its history in late 2025, as county commissioners and other operations are set to move out of the historic county courthouse on the Square and into a new, modern headquarters building on the southside of Georgetown.

Williamson County Courthouse is candle on the cake for county

Williamson County will celebrate its 175th birthday this weekend. Few things represent the county more than its historic courthouse in downtown Georgetown.  The building — technically the fifth courthouse built in the county — now houses commissioners court along with county offices.
