Williamson County evaluating jail expansion, rework

The Williamson County Commissioners Court will implement a plan to provide short-term space to the Williamson County Jail beginning in October. Commissioner Valerie Covey Tuesday, August 20, discussed expanding the county jail and Justice Center to accommodate Wilco’s growing population.

Round Rock PD arrests shooting suspect, investigation still ongoing

Ricky Tyrone Thompson III, 17, of Manor, was arrested in Pflugerville on June 20 by the Lonestar Fugitive Task Force in connection with a shooting that took place at Round Rock’s Juneteenth celebration in Old Settlers Park this past weekend. Two were killed and 14 more injured at the event.

Proposed behavioral health program at Williamson County Jail could help those facing mental health crisis

Precinct 3 Commissioner Valerie Covey announced during the January 17 commissioners court that she hopes to start a competency restoration program inside the jail, along with the help of mental health services provider Bluebonnet Trails and the county sheriff’s office.
