Georgetown Optimum customers lose internet at hands of criminals

A portion of Georgetown woke up Monday morning without internet service due to Optimum fiber-optic cables being cut overnight. Optimum's outage map showed about 11,700 customers without service in Georgetown, with 1,030 more in the Jarrell area and 115 in Florence Monday morning.

Dear Sun Staff: I am a local boy scout and am writing to see if the paper has looked into why there are so few options for the internet here in Georgetown. I have been talking with my Dad and he is telling me that he only has one or two options for the internet.
