Georgetown Art Center see new membership program, facility growth

Ownership of the Georgetown Art Center transferred from Georgetown Art Works to the city’s Arts and Culture Program this January. The city continues efforts to grow the program. A major expansion of the Art Center’s gift shop saw new artists and retail displays.

Adults hone artistic skills this summer

A series of summer workshops hosted by the Georgetown Arts and Culture Program will be offered at the Georgetown Art Center between July 21 and August 11. There are four different classes geared toward those ages 18 and older. Classes range from $75 to $120 per session.

Art Center Programming expands in January

Beginning in January, the city’s arts and culture program will “begin taking a more active role in the management of” the Art Center facility, according to a city press release.
The city will continue to partner with the Georgetown Art Works nonprofit and the Cordovan Art School.

Georgetown Art Center celebrates 10 years

Annual Georgetown sculpture tour winners announced

The Georgetown Arts and Culture Board awarded Tim Glover the first prize award in the 2022-2023 Sculpture Tour for his piece “Whirlwind.” His sculpture features a bird and a horn toad perched atop a twister.
