Making it big in NYC: Walburg’s Howard Bleeke, professional actor, loved his life

Howard Bleeke came home to Walburg on Valentine’s Day. He was buried next to his mother, Hilda Kelm Bleeke, as he had requested, and his father, Wilfred Bleeke. Had he lived, Howard would be celebrating his 83rd birthday today, but he died a year ago last spring.

Oh, the sound of it. For years, I have flinched, grimaced, missed sleep and whined (along with Old Hodge) as our neighborhood warmed up for the new year’s arrival.  We live in Old Town, and Old Town loves a celebration.
