Flags retired with honor

A flag retirement ceremony was held at the Field of Honor on Friday, November 14, 2025. Taking part in the ceremony were members of Scouting America Troop 1096, representatives from the Civil Air Patrol, veterans and active duty military, plus members of the public.

The Rotary Club of Georgetown Foundation will be hosting the eighth annual Field of Honor at San Gabriel Park from November 9-17 in honor of Veteran’s Day on November 11.

The Field of Honor — organized by Georgetown’s Rotary Club every year in honor of Veteran’s Day — is looking for beneficiaries for this year’s event. The Field of Honor will take place in San Gabriel Park this year from November 9-17.

Field of Honor finds temporary home through GISD partnership

The annual Field of Honor event, which is hosted annually by The Rotary Club of Georgetown to honor those who have served in the armed forces, will be moved to Georgetown ISD’s Hammerlun Center in Old Town this fall because of ongoing construction in San Gabriel Park.
