Georgetown Optimum customers lose internet at hands of criminals

A portion of Georgetown woke up Monday morning without internet service due to Optimum fiber-optic cables being cut overnight. Optimum's outage map showed about 11,700 customers without service in Georgetown, with 1,030 more in the Jarrell area and 115 in Florence Monday morning.

Internet provider Optimum upgrades G’town network

Optimum, a provider of internet, phone and television services, announced on October 23 that it has upgraded its local network in Georgetown. The company’s 100 percent fiber internet services will be made available to residents and businesses.
