Child Abuse Awareness Month

April is National Child Abuse Awareness Month. As part of the growing need, two children’s advocacy organizations hosted events to start the month. CASA of WilcoCourt Appointed Special Advocates of Williamson County celebrated the opening and dedication of the nonprofit’s new training room.

Fabulous Fun-raising: Wilco advocacy nonprofits host fashion-themed charity events in Sept.

Williamson County is home to many nonprofits that strive to make the community a better place.  Kicking off the fall fundraising season, two child advocacy groups will pair fashion with compassion in September.

County addresses child abuse

The Williamson County Commissioners Court declared April as Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month during the April 9 meeting.

Williamson County nonprofits set for 2024 gala

The Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center and CASA of Williamson County will host the 2024 Destination: Hope Gala on Friday, March 8.    The third-annual gala will occur at the Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Round Rock from 5:30-10 p.m., according to a press release sent from CASA.

Williamson County prosecutor honored by Children’s Advocacy Center

Williamson County District Attorney Ryan Bownds received the Prosecution MVP Award from the Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center Multidisciplinary Team on December 6. The award recognizes his outstanding efforts in pursuing justice for child victims of abuse and neglect.

Justice, healing, hope

The Williamson County Child Advocacy Center held its grand opening in Georgetown on Friday November 3,  after two years of construction. The building will offer abused children and their families services for recovery.
