In 1598, Spanish explorer Juan de Onate and his expedition traveled North from Mexico for 50 days.

We’ve all heard that Eskimos have 50 words for snow. In the late 19th century, anthropologist and linguist Franz Boas studied Inuit communities and observed that Eskimos had an abundance of words for the white stuff that is a novelty in Texas.

Georgetown Eagles get big win to start fall season

The Georgetown Eagle boys have started the fall golfing season with a victory in Victoria.
Under some exceptional play to start the new school year, the Eagle boys captured the Victoria East 2023 Fall Classic in Victoria.
“This was a course we have never been to,” explained coach Casey Leatherman.

Andrew Corbin is the artist of the month at the new Williamson County Art Guild gallery. This Army veteran was looking for an outlet after returning from the war. That’s when he found oil paints. He is a self-taught artist who loves the romanticism of wild landscapes and seascapes.
