Bibliofiles: Library announced Sculptors Show winners

There are 72 sculptures throughout the Georgetown Public Library which are part of the 18th-annual Texas Society of Sculptors Summer Show.Earlier this summer, visitors to the Library had the chance to vote for their favorite piece, and we thank everyone who participated.

Easy summertime cooking to keep your cool

This week I’m keeping it very cool with four new recipes for easy summertime “cooking.” These first two come from faithful Sun reader Kelly Clayman, who made them and served them to her family recently with great results.
Private First Class Joe Klepac, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klepac of Jarrell, Texas, was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in action in Korea while serving with the Fifth Cavalry Regiment of the First Cavalry Division. The presentation was made by Colonel Jonathan M. Rigon, Commanding Officer of the 172d Station Hospital where Klepac is recuperating. Prior to his entry in the armed forces in July, 1950, Klepac worked with his father in “Klepac & Son, Mechanics.”
