Granger gears up for eclipse festivities

The City of Granger and the Granger Main Street Program are looking for volunteers for their Journey Into Darkness eclipse festival. The event is scheduled from April 6-8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at City Park on 215 East Davilla Street.

Everything to know ahead of Georgetown’s Red Poppy Festival

The Red Poppy Capital of Texas will celebrate its 25th annual Red Poppy Festival during April 26-28, with vendors, food, activities and stage acts for the entire family congregating in downtown Georgetown.

Williamson County attracts new investors in bond sales

The Williamson County Commissioners Court heard an update on recent bond sales during the March 19 meeting.    About $141 million was sold for road bonds to fund $160 million worth of projects. Additionally, $152 million in tax notes were sold to fund $167 million in projects.

Prepare for Two Step Inn with schedule, rules

The second annual Two Step Inn country music festival will take place this spring April 20-21 in San Gabriel Park. Music at this year’s festival will begin both days at noon and will last until about 10 p.m.

Williamson County strikes deal with automotive manufacturer

The Williamson County Commissioners Court approved a Chapter 312 agreement with Hanwha Advanced Materials America, LLC, an automotive parts supplier and a division of South Korea-based Hanwha Group.

Williamson County sets plans, timeline for new $90 million headquarter

Williamson County will begin a new chapter of its history in late 2025, as county commissioners and other operations are set to move out of the historic county courthouse on the Square and into a new, modern headquarters building on the southside of Georgetown.

Williamson County continues AAA bond rating

Williamson County has announced it once again has received a AAA bond rating, the highest rating possible score, with both rating agencies Fitch Ratings and Standard & Poor Global.   Securing a bond rating is the first step before issuing debt, according to a news release from the county.
