Williamson County nonprofits set for 2024 gala

Hope on the Horizon   The Williamson County Children's Advocacy Center and CASA of Williamson County will host the 2024 Destination: Hope Gala.    The third-annual galla will occur at the Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Round Rock, on Friday, March 8.

Victim of train fatality identified

Williamson County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3 and Leander Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the next of kin of a deceased individual, Naomi L. Morales.

Follow the Light: Foggy days are a visual treat

After days and nights of bitter cold weather, rainfall blanketed our area Monday morning, soon followed by a dense layer of mist. Granted, foggy conditions can lead to challenging times for drivers, but for many photographers, they can transform the landscape.

Nonprofit fundraising day expands with Williamson County event

Since 2007, the organization I Live Here I Give Here has worked with Central Texans to give back to their communities and the nonprofits that serve them. Their titular event, Amplify Austin Day, is expanding into Williamson County, with the new event, Amplify Wilco.

Texas Photography Festival takes on Bartlett

Pistons On The Bricks, a car show and photography event, was hosted January 20 in Bartlett by the Texas Photography Festival and the Williamson Museum.  Attendees enjoyed presentations by photographers Tricia Zeigler, Egidio Leitao and Bridgett Piernik-Yoder.

Sales tax increases overall in county in newest report

Kicking off the new year, most of the cities in the county have seen increased revenue when comparing sales tax from January 2023 to January 2024.    Most notably, Taylor’s sales tax grew over 100 percent, allowing the city to rank in over $3.3 million.

Williamson County provides update, sets plans for next 10 years

Williamson County Commissioners Court heard an update on the 2023 Strategic Plan during the January 23 meeting at the County Courthouse.  Developed over the course of nine months from 2022 to 2023, The Strategic Plan is a 10-year guide that aims to direct the county’s time and efforts.

Hutto  Tesla has expanded into Hutto. The automotive company is occupying an industrial building located on 200 County Road 199. According to the Texas Department of Licencing and Regulation, the company plans for the $1.5 million renovation to “accommodate new tenant's equipment.
