The Nutcracker in AustinOne of Austin’s favorite holiday traditions — Ballet Austin’s The Nutcracker — is back for the winter. The curtain rises at the Long Center December 5 and will run through December 23 for its 63rd annual run. Visit https://balletaustin.org for tickets and schedules.

Every spring, the Georgetown Public Library hosts an open call during which artists and organizations are encouraged to submit their proposals for next year’s exhibits. There are three exhibit spaces in the Library, the Café Gallery downstairs and the Hall and Bridge Galleries upstairs.

Art Scapes: 17th annual Sun City Photo Club winners announced

The 17th Annual Sun City Photo competition garnered 122 submissions in a variety of subject categories. These contest photos are on display until December 27 in the Activity Center, 1 Texas Drive.

This weekend, downtown Georgetown will turn into a winter wonderland with the 44th annual Christmas Stroll. This year’s stroll — which takes place Friday, December 5 to Sunday, December 7 — is Candyland themed.

Playtime: Enjoy Dashing Through the Snow at the Palace Playhouse

The Williamson County Art Guild artist reception and holiday party is 5-7 p.m., December 5, at 708 South Rock Street, one block off the Georgetown Square. The event coincides with First Friday activities in downtown Georgetown.
