The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host its 63rd annual Stiles Farm Field Day at 5700 Farm to Market Road 1063 in Thrall on Tuesday, June 9.
In keeping with Stiles Farm Foundation’s mission for agricultural research and education in Central Texas, the free event will educate attendees about the world of agriculture in Central Texas and will spotlight technology, crop production, pest management and more.
Registration begins at 4:45 p.m. From there, field tours will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Stops on the tour will teach participants how to get the most out of agriculture and technology tools when using planters, how weeds and pests are managed when growing corn, how deer are managed near grain production and concerns and management practices for flies, pests and insects. These topics will be taught by AgriLife Extension specialists, researchers and industry leaders.
Outside of the tour, attendees will have a catered meal and have access to door prizes and agricultural vendors.
Youth can also attend a hands-on agricultural education session with water slides and snow cones.
