The following events are taking place in and around the Georgetown area through the end of April. 

Traveling Nanas share stories

Lark & Owl in downtown Georgetown will host “Here We Go: Lessons for Living Fearlessly from Two Traveling Nanas” authors Eleanor Hamby and Dr. Sandra Hazelip. Known as the “Traveling Nanas,” the pair will share stories from their globe-spanning adventures—many taken in their 80s—and offer an inspiring message about aging with purpose, connection and joy. Free registration, or $29 to receive a copy of the book. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Learn to Fish

Join Williamson County Parks for its annual Learn to Fish event at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park. Children of all ages are invited to learn fishing tips and techniques through teaching stations at the event at 3005 CR 175 in Leander. Learn to Fish is free and open to the public. No preregistration is necessary. All participants are asked to stop at the registration table upon arrival at the park to pick up materials needed for the stations. PickleBall Jam

The Georgetown Project’s PickleBall Jam raises money for programs like the Bridges to Growth Parent Center, The NEST Empowerment Center and the Summer Youth Employment Program. This event is being held in partnership with the GTX Pickleball Association at the North Point Sun City Pickleball courts, 700 County Road 245, Georgetown. Market Days

Market Days is held on the Square the second Saturday of each month from March through November. Explore the vendor, shops, food and live entertainment across downtown Georgetown.

U.R. Our Hope fundraiser

Fish City Grill, 1019 West University in Georgetown, will host “Party on the Patio,” a fundraiser for U.R. Our Hope, a nonprofit organization that helps families and children with extremely rare, often genetic, diseases. Family Nature Fest

Celebrate Earth Day at The Meadow in Garey Park with demonstrations, activities, environmental education and food trucks. Seating at The Meadow is limited, so families are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs. There is an entrance fee to Garey Park and some of the activities may also have fees.

Jazz in Georgetown 

Austin Jazz Society will present Sean Giddings as part of its “Jazz in Georgetown” concert series for 2026. Performances are held at First Presbyterian Church of Georgetown, 703 South Church Street. Holocaust Remembrance Day

Congregation Havurah Shalom of Sun City will host a free Holocaust Remembrance Day event at the Georgetown Public Library. It will feature a presentation by Deborah Roth-Howe, a descendant of holocaust survivors will engage attendees with the sharing of her family’s story and the story and lives of four other Jewish families from a small German village during WWll.

Holocaust exhibit at the library

The library is partnering with Congregation Havurah Shalom for an exhibit titled “A Reason to Remember: Roth, Germany 1933-1942” from The University of Massachusetts Amherst. It will be available during regular library hours. A presentation will be given on April 12 by Deborah Roth-Howe detailing her family’s history with the Nazi regime. 
April 12-May 21

Sweet Eats Adult Easter Egg hunt

Those 18 and up can enjoy an adult Easter Egg hunt complete with prizes and hunting for eggs in the dark. The hunt will start around 8:40 p.m. The ticket to the event also includes general admission to the farm for those who want to experience other activities during the farm’s regular business hours. Easter Bunny Brunch

Enjoy brunch and mimosas with everyone’s favorite springtime character at Sweet Eats Adventure Farm. Typical breakfast fare can be expected. Tickets do not include General Admission to the farm. SU Research & Creative Works Symposium

Southwestern University’s annual Research and Creative Works Symposium showcases undergraduate research, innovation, and imagination, with students presenting posters, talks, art exhibits, performances, and panel discussions. Shilling Lecture with Amor Towles

Southwestern University welcomes award-winning, bestselling author Amor Towles as the guest speaker at the 2026 Roy and Margaret Shilling Lecture. The moderated discussion with Towles will be hosted in the Alma Thomas Theater. A book signing will follow. The Shilling Lecture Series is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. The Alma Thomas Fine Arts Center doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

GTX Downtown Social

Put on by the Downtown Georgetown Association, this free event is Disco Cowgirl themed. Come in your best books, sparkle and fringe to this passport-style event around Downtown businesses. There is also a swag bag for purchase that has merch, discounts, local samples and surprise gift cards. This event is 21+. Current Issues Club hosts GISD Superintendent 

Sun City Current Issues Club will host a meeting featuring Georgetown ISD Superintendent Dr. Devin Padavil, who will discuss the “State of the GISD” and “How does Georgetown ISD select curriculum and ensure it is relevant?” The session — held at Cowan Creek Georgetown/Florence Room, 1433 Cool Spring Way in Sun City — will include the talk and a Q&A session. All Sun City residents are welcome to attend.

Kiwanis Spring Garage Sale

The Kiwanis Club of Sun City Georgetown’s bi-annual Spring Garage Sale will be held at the Sun City Social Center Parking Lot at 2 Texas Drive, Georgetown. The event has been rescueduled for April 18 due to rain.

Two Step Inn Pre-Party

Before Two Step Inn starts in San Gabriel Park, join the Downtown Georgetown Association at a free, family friendly music, dining and shopping experience on the courthouse lawn. There will be music by Disko Cowboy, and Elle Townley will play at 5 p.m. at Tejas Meat Supply. Shops will stay open late for this event to do any last minute festival outfit buying.

Two Step Inn

The Two Step Inn country music festival takes place in San Gabriel Park April 18-19. Organized by C3 Presents — the company behind Austin City Limits — the two-day festival draws in about 30,000 people a day. Justice Center informational open house

Williamson County hosts a public information session about the Justice Complex at Williamson County EMS, 3189 SE Inner Loop in Georgetown. Community members will learn about proposed solutions addressing current and long-term space needs related to the Justice Center and county jail. Small Grains Field Day

Join Dr. Brandon Garrish and the AgriLife Extension staff at the Adam Martinka Farm winter wheat test plots at County Road 319, Bartlett. The field day focuses on new and current hard and soft winter wheat varieties. Learn about  Hessian Fly trial results, wheat variety susceptibility, and fly management techniques, Leaf Rust issues and varietal responses, and, vernalization requirements. Earth Day with Sun City Recycles

Sun City Recycles will host its Earth Day event, “Our Power, Our Planet,” at The Retreat, 1220 Cattleman Drive in Sun City, Georgetown, featuring exhibitors focused on environmental protection and community sustainability. The free event celebrates the 56th anniversary of Earth Day and will include opportunities to learn and engage, along with door prize drawings throughout the morning.

Red Poppy Festival

Georgetown — The Red Poppy Capital of Texas — hosts the annual Red Poppy Festival each April to highlight both the flower’s rarity and the Georgetown community at large, with local vendors, parades, family activities and concerts scheduled throughout the weekend. Red Poppy Ride

The 25th annual Red Poppy Ride will give riders the chance to take on 14 miles, 28 miles, 40 miles or 100 miles. The event benefits the Williamson County Child Advocacy Center, Sertoma’s scholarships for Georgetown ISD students, and the city’s bicycle patrol unit. Salado Music Crawl and Chili Cookoff

Guests can expect “Spicy Tunes” and “Hot Chili” during the Salado Music Crawl and Chili Cookoff on Salado’s historic music mile. Visit Facebook.com/saladomusicfriendly for information. Money raised at the event goes to WE ARE MUSIC Salado, a nonprofit that aims to connect music and businesses in Salado.

Tee Up for CASA Golf Outing

CASA — Court Appointed Special Advocates — is partnering with Sport Clips for its 14th annual Tee Up for CASA Golf Outing at the Georgetown Country Club. Support CASA and hit the green for a day of fun, sun, and games. Registration is $200 for individual golfers, $700 for a golf foursome. Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter fundraiser

The Bets for Pets Casino Night fundraiser supports the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter’s medical fund, which helps cover the cost of urgent outside veterinary care for sick and injured dogs and cats brought to the shelter. Guests can enjoy an evening of blackjack, slot machines, poker and more at 3 Sierra Way Street in Georgetown Visit the shelter’s website for more information.

Bets for Pets fundraiser

Tickets are on sale for the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter Bets for Pets fundraiser at Nyle Maxwell’s Vehicle Unique, 3 Sierra Way Street, Georgetown. Single tickets are available for $50, and couple’s tickets for $90. Each ticket includes casino chips, which guests will use to play throughout the evening and later exchange for raffle entries. 19th Annual Car Show & Charity Benefit

The Georgetown Texas Area Car Club will host its 19th Annual Car Show and Charity Benefit at the Sun City Social Center parking lot, 2 Texas Drive in Georgetown, featuring more than 225 classic vehicles, along with food, music, vendors and raffles; admission is free for spectators. Proceeds support scholarships for Georgetown and East View high school automotive technology students and other local organizations, with more than $140,000 donated over the past 16 years. Mother’s Day Market

The Light and Water Works District, 809 Martin Luther King Jr. Street, will host a Mother’s Day Market with food trucks, vendors and activities for all ages. Entertainment would be provided by Sister Golden Hair.

Downtown Georgetown historic walking tours

These tours will teach attendees about the history of downtown Georgetown with a free tour around the area and a tour of the Williamson County Courthouse. There is an opportunity for lunch between the tour around downtown and the tour of the courthouse. Tours depart from the Main Street side of the courthouse and last about 45 minutes.
