Cattleman’s Ball honors area rodeo performer

The Williamson Museum’s Cattleman’s Ball is heading to Round Rock this fall, and legendary cowboy Bill Pickett will be honored at the event for his impact on Texas and American history. The Cattleman’s Ball event will be held on October 3 at 6:30 p.m. at Kalahari Resort.

Rubber duck race raises money for GISD seniors

Georgetown’s branch of the American Association of University Women will host their ninth annual duck race on October 19. Participants can win up to $500. The race will begin at 11 a.m. at the San Gabriel River in San Gabriel Park.

Georgetown sets stage for second water rate increase

Current water and wastewater rates will not cover the revenue needs of Georgetown utilities by the 2025 Fiscal Year, according to a study by consultant NewGen Strategies and Solutions. This will lead to a temporary department budget shortfall that will be covered through available fund balances.

GT School, a new gifted and talented private school for students kindergarten through eighth grade is opening in Georgetown on 2351 Westinghouse Road in August. At the GT School, teaching will be automated.
