Georgetown takes direction from county study in updating floodplains

Miss Oklahoma speaks about impact of Assistance League

Former Miss Oklahoma, Sunny Day, grew up in Section 8 housing, helped raise her siblings and relied on services like Operation School Bell from the Assistance League for new school clothes.

Women’s group still going strong after 50 years

Jail update expected by 2030

 Williamson County commissioners could hire a program manager to head an effort to update and expand the county jail and justice center in downtown Georgetown.

Hutto man gets 30 years for shooting at Georgetown police officer

Malcolm Watts, 25, of Hutto, pled guilty this month to shooting at a Georgetown police officer during a domestic disturbance back in 2021. He was charged with aggravated assault of a public servant and on October 10, was sentenced by Judge Stacey Mathews to serve 30 years in prison.
