Georgetown council talks Downtown Master Plan

Conceptually approved back in May, projects outlined in Georgetown’s Downtown Master Plan are coming more into focus. The city is taking steps toward breaking ground on projects that could be finished within the next three years.

Assistance League welcomes Miss Oklahoma

The Assistance League of Georgetown Area will host an event open to the public on October 21 with former Miss Oklahoma Sunny Day. There is no need to RSVP. The event will take place at 10 a.m. in the gymnasium of First Baptist Church of Georgetown, 1333 West University Avenue. Ms.

Two Step Inn presale opens for Georgetown residents

Next year's Two Step Inn country music festival, which will be held April 5-6, is opening up presale tickets for Georgetown residents starting October 18. There is a limited quantity of Georgetown-resident pre-sale tickets.

County split over DA’s funding transfers

 Williamson County District Attorney's Office requested funding for two new positions during the October 15 Commissioners Court meeting. A public hearing was held about a request to transfer additional funding for a new Felony Prosecutor III position for $21,742.23, according to county documents.

 The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and Williamson County Human Resources both received top honors by the Texas Association of Counties for county programs.

Eight local artist are winners at Art Hop XVII

For the 17th year, Georgetown Art Works has again hosted the annual juried Art Hop event with dozens of artworks on exhibit and offered for sale at the Georgetown Public Library and San Gabriel Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall until November 2.

First United Methodist Church in Georgetown unload pumpkins at on Wednesday, October 9, for this fall's pumpkin patch.  About 2,880 large pumpkins, plus many smaller versions were unloaded at the church.  The pumpkins were grown in New Mexico.
