Early voting starts October 23

With numerous elections taking place throughout Williamson County, Wilco residents will have an opportunity to vote early beginning October 23 and on election day November 7. County residents can visit any Williamson County polling location to cast their vote.

Liberty Hill Man arrested on murder charges

Ryan Adam Madden, 38, was taken into custody for the alleged homicide of 42-year-old Cody Wayne Kinslow of Temple on September 29, according to the Bell County Sheriff’s Office.  Referred to as the “Little Flock Homicide” by authorities, Bell County authorities said Mr.

National Fire Protection Week focuses on cooking safety

The Williamson County Fire Marshal’s office is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association to promote this year’s Fire Protection Week campaign, “Cooking safety starts with you. Pay attention to fire prevention.”  Fire Prevention Week is October 8 through 14.

Williamson County hosts first bond information open house

Williamson County residents had an opportunity to learn about and discuss the upcoming county bond election at an open house at the Georgetown Annex off of Wilco Way October 3. Two county bonds will be up to vote in November.

Williamson County Commissioners Court hears update on dispatch software

Richard Semple from the Williamson County Information and Technology Department presented an update about Unify, the data-sharing hub between 9-1-1 dispatch centers in the region, to the County Commissioners Court during the Tuesday, September 26, meeting.

Williamson County unemployment stays at 3.9 percent

The Texas Workforce Commission released updated unemployment numbers for Central Texas counties for August 2023.  Williamson County’s unemployment rate stayed low: 3.9 percent.  Currently, 634,898 people are employed in the Rural Capitol Area.
