Schedule: 2025 Red Poppy Festival weekend

 

Head down to the Square to kick off Georgetown’s 26th-annual Red Poppy Festival Friday evening with a live performance by Dysfunkshun Junkshun at 7 p.m.

The three-day festival runs through Sunday afternoon and offers live music, food, vendors, family-friendly activities and parades. 

The following schedule outlines Red Poppy events around the Square this weekend. 

 

Friday, April 25

  • 6-9 p.m.: Artisan booths open, food courts open
  • 7-10 p.m.: Dysfunkshun Junkshun 

Saturday, April 26

  • 10 a.m.: Red Poppy Parade
  • 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.: Artisan booths and food court

Street closures and parking

Austin Avenue will close at 6 a.m. Friday, April 25, from Sixth to Tenth streets. Traffic will be detoured to Rock Street. Austin Avenue will be closed through April 27 at 11 p.m. 

Other streets around the courthouse will also close at 6 a.m. on April 25 to allow for vendor setup. Streets around the Square will remain closed through April 27 at 11 p.m. 

Pick up locations are Georgetown High School and East View High School, and riders will be dropped off across from the Georgetown Public Library, about two blocks from the activities on the Square. The shuttle will begin running at 9 a.m., and the last shuttle of the day will leave downtown at about 11 p.m. on Saturday. It will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Parking in the Old Town neighborhood will be limited, and towing will be enforced. 

The parking lot at 10th and Main streets is reserved for those with mobility challenges. A placard or license plate designation will be required. There is also handicap parking on Eighth and Forest Streets. 

The Williamson County parking garage located at Rock and Fourth streets, and the parking lot on Austin Avenue between Fifth and Fourth streets, will be open. The Martin Luther King Jr. Street lots at West Eighth and West Sixth streets will also be open. 

Ride-share drop off and pick up with Wi-Fi access can be found at MLK Jr. Street and Ninth Street. The city parking lot at Sixth and Main Streets will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 24.
