Caribbean food comes to Round Rock - Business Briefs
Island Riddim Jerk & BBQ Grill opened in Round Rock at 200 University Boulevard, Ste. 350,
on November 22. The family-run restaurant offers traditional Jamaican food including Jerk Chicken, Curry Chicken and BBQ ribs.
Owners Dianne and Wayne Anderson moved from New Jersey — where they ran a Caribbean restaurant — to Williamson County.
“We realized that there's a need to have something [Caribbean] in the area to serve the community,” Mr. Anderson said.
Ms. Anderson said the menu features their family recipes including traditional Caribbean dishes and a twist on Texas BBQ ribs.
“It's bringing the island here to Texas, but also, we’re kind of putting our own stamp on something that is popular in Texas as well. It’s really island-flavor meets Texas BBQ,” she said.
Island Riddim Jerk & BBQ Grill serves Caribbean sodas and beers, plays music from the region, and is designed with the tropical island in mind.
