Georgetown women’s giving circle Seeds of Strength gave its 2025 Founders Grant – a special $5,000 award honoring the organization’s founding members – to The Williamson Museum.

This grant, according to Seeds of Strength, recognizes nonprofits with missions that reflect “long-term, sustainable impact” in the county and Georgetown.

“We are very excited to be the 2025 Founders Grant recipient. This grant allows us to broaden the stories we tell and deepen the learning opportunities we offer,” said Danelle Houck, The Williamson Museum’s executive director. “With four new trunks and much-needed enhancements to our program materials, we will continue serving thousands of students with hands-on history that brings Williamson County to life.”

The museum’s new trunks include: Native Americans of Williamson County, a Bat Trunk, Black History and Women’s History.

This is the second year the Founders Grant has been awarded.

“Our founders believed that when women join together, we make extraordinary things happen,” said Pam Carlson, Seeds of Strength president. “The Williamson Museum’s commitment to accessible, engaging education reflects exactly why the Founders Grant was created. We are honored to support a program that reaches so many students and preserves the diverse stories of our region.”
